Journeyman Plumber

JOB SUMMARY:

The Construction team is looking for experienced licensed Journeyman Plumbers for current and upcoming project needs across San Antonio (private commercial jobs, schools, and federal jobs) who will support the commercial construction team with plumbing installations, assembly of plumbing, piping, and drainage systems, fixture installs, and all phases of construction from rough-ins to top-outs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reads blueprints and drawings to understand and plan plumbing layouts, waste disposal, med-gas and water supply systems.
• Cuts, assembles, and installs piping and tubing in walls and floors as needed with attention to existing infrastructure (i.e. electrical wiring).
• Insures that all construction, safety and traffic permits are ordered and posted prior to work commencements
• Install and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, bathtubs, urinals, etc.
• Cut and solder copper, braze, and thread pipe using plumbing tools and torches
• Installs new and maintains existing domestic water supply systems.
• Locates and repairs issues with water supply and sanitary system lines/piping as required.
• Repairs or replaces broken drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets etc.
• Installs and maintains gas and liquid systems, waste disposal and sanitary systems
• Ability to work with large piping systems including stormwater systems
• Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills to lead and grow assigned Plumbing Apprentices

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Journeyman Plumber license in the state of Texas
• Current driver's license
• 4+ years of experience working on commercial construction projects: Schools, hospitals, high rises, data centers, distribution/warehouses
• Experience working with various types of plumbing tools and equipment (pipe wrenches, cutters, torches, crimpers, cordless drills, hydro-jetting equipment, etc)
• Ability to read and understand specifications, blueprints, and drawings
• Experience walking job sites and able to generate bids and basic pricing
• Solid understanding of water distribution and disposal systems in residential, commercial and industrial buildings
• PREFERRED:
  • Backflow prevention certification
  • Medgas license
