JOB SUMMARY:

Capital's Utilities team is looking for an Underground Utility Foreman for its current and new projects with San Antonio's largest Contractor. This position will support the department and its teams with duties such as: Underground utility work, underground residential distribution work, leading utility crews, and ensuring project completion.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Leading crews of 3-5 utility laborers and operators
• Reading and interpreting blueprints to direct crews and line out work for the day
• Assist across multiple job sites in San Antonio
• Will be required to be a working foreman; digging trenches for underground utility lines using shovels and by hand, hauling dirt and sand, and perform site clean-up duties
• Carry out safety policies in place to avoid site hazards (setting up cones, moving material and equipment off driveways and sidewalks, wearing required PPE)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ years of experience as a lead or foreman working on underground utility projects
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
• Experience working outdoors in the elements (extreme heat and cold)
• Ability to carry up to 80 lbs
• Strong attention to detail and strong initiative - able to ask for direction once tasks are completed
• Reliable transportation
• Safety oriented mentality - Able to see potential job hazards and mitigate, as needed
• PREFERRED:
  • Preferably experience working Underground Utility
  • Heavy equipment operating skills
